Quantity Surveyor
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, contract administration, and financial control for the project. This role ensures that the project is completed within its financial scope, adhering to contractual obligations, and maintaining accurate cost records throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for the gas pipeline project.
– Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis to support project planning.
– Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and selecting suppliers/subcontractors.
– Manage contractual relationships, including drafting and evaluating contracts, variations, and claims.
– Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost control measures are in place.
– Track and report on project financial progress, including cash flow forecasts.
– Conduct valuation of work performed and process payments to contractors/subcontractors.
– Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
– Manage change orders and variations, assessing their impact on project costs and schedules.
– Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, contractual correspondence, and project documentation.
– Conduct risk assessments related to project costs and develop mitigation strategies.
– Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
– Minimum of 8 -12 years experience in preferably in gas pipeline or infrastructure projects.
– Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and financial management.
– Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
– Proficiency in estimating software, MS Office Suite, and project management tools.
– Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
– Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to pipeline construction.
