Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget, while maintaining the required quality standards. You will work collaboratively with project managers, architects, and contractors, providing essential support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
– Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities.
– Provide financial advice and support to project teams.
– Prepare detailed estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
– Conduct site measurements and produce accurate take-offs from drawings
– Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts with contractors and suppliers.
– Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
– Prepare cost reports and valuations for interim payments and final accounts
– Identify potential financial and contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
– Prepare risk assessment reports and contribute to risk management plans.
– Liaise with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure accurate pricing and scheduling.
– Attend project meetings and represent the quantity surveying function effectively.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the Construction industry and quantity surveying practices.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
– Professional certification is an advantage.
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying
– Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
