Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer
Location: Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria
Job Summary: The HSE Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Organize training sessions on health and safety practices.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations and standards.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents and propose preventive measures.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding HSE matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
