General Manager

The General Manager – EPCIC is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning (EPCIC) operations. This role entails strategic planning, resource management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful project delivery in line with company policies and delegated authority.

Key Responsibilities:

– Operational Leadership:  Direct and oversee all EPCIC operations and project execution activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

– Resource Allocation: Allocate operational resources effectively to meet project requirements and organizational objectives.

– Planning and Expenditure Approval: Approve operational plans and expenditures within delegated limits, maintaining control over project costs and schedules.

– Personnel Management: Recommend the appointment and deployment of project personnel to ensure the right talent is assigned to the right projects.

– Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Recommend and select vendors, subcontractors, and service providers to support project needs.

– Risk Management Escalate major commercial, contractual, financial, and operational risks to senior management for appropriate mitigation.

– Strategic Management: Propose and recommend strategic investments and operational improvements to enhance project delivery and organizational growth.

– Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in senior-level client and stakeholder engagements, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with client expectations.

Internal: Managing Director / CEO, Finance & Accounts, Human Resources & Administration, Business Development, Commercial & Contracts, HSE, QA/QC, Project Management and Operations

External: Oil & gas operators, EPCIC clients, Government and regulatory agencies, Consultants, Engineering firms, Vendors and suppliers, Subcontractors, Fabrication and construction contractors, Joint-venture and strategic partners.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management or a related field is an
  • Relevant professional certification such as PMP, COREN, MBA or equivalent is an
  • Strong knowledge of EPC/EPCIC project execution and oil & gas

Experience

  • Minimum 12–15 years’ relevant experience in EPC, EPCIC, oil & gas, energy, construction or engineering
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior management or project leadership
  • Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary EPCIC
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, contracts, subcontractors and major client
  • Experience working with Nigerian and/or international oil & gas operators, EPC contractors or energy companies is highly desirable.
