Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer
Job Summary:
The Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems associated with pipeline construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, instrumentation design, and field installation activities. Must be familiar with electrical design and interpretation of drawings and appropriate documentations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executes specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
- Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC Supervisor non-conformances reports.
- Checks cable laying and cable identification.
- Performs all relevant loop checks.
- Updates as built drawings.
- Performs punch-listing operations.
- Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system.
- Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
- Performs tests of continuity, insulation resistance.
- Calibrates safety valves.
- Calibrates instruments.
- Checks installation of instruments.
- Performs tests functional instruments.
- Checks pneumatic signal connection.
- Checks fibre optic cable.
- Performs test communication functionalities.
- Verify special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications.
- Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, and check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.
- Use correct procedures and correct method of dismantling.
- Carry out the correct isolation and disconnection procedure.
- Identify, check and prepare components.
- Make effective repairs without wasting resources.
- Apply appropriate tests and test equipment to ensure reassembly is correct and effective prior to reinstatement.
- Carry out test runs on equipment by agreement with Operations
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical/instrumentation engineering, preferably in pipeline construction.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
