Expatriate Planner & Scheduler – Project Management Consultancy (Oil and Gas Pipeline Project)
The Expatriate Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules to ensure the successful execution of an oil and gas pipeline project. The role requires in-depth experience in project management, scheduling tools, and construction methodologies, along with an ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. The incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Establish baseline schedules, critical paths, and milestones for the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
- Monitoring and Progress Reporting:
- Monitor project progress and analyze deviations from the schedule.
- Prepare periodic progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis (EVA).
- Identify schedule risks and provide mitigation plans to project stakeholders.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and updates on project activities.
- Ensure alignment between project execution plans and schedules.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding scheduling updates and changes.
- Resource and Cost Management:
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with the project schedule and forecast resource requirements.
- Integrate cost data with the schedule for time-phased budgeting and forecasting.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage schedule-related risks and opportunities.
- Propose corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize schedules.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale oil and gas pipeline projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
- Experience in working with Project Management Consultancy (PMC) teams is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with project controls processes, including cost and risk management.
- Knowledge of international project standards, codes, and practices in the oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and expatriate environment.
