Expatriate Planner & Scheduler – Project Management Consultancy (Oil and Gas Pipeline Project)

The Expatriate Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules to ensure the successful execution of an oil and gas pipeline project. The role requires in-depth experience in project management, scheduling tools, and construction methodologies, along with an ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. The incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Establish baseline schedules, critical paths, and milestones for the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Monitoring and Progress Reporting:
    • Monitor project progress and analyze deviations from the schedule.
    • Prepare periodic progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis (EVA).
    • Identify schedule risks and provide mitigation plans to project stakeholders.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and updates on project activities.
    • Ensure alignment between project execution plans and schedules.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding scheduling updates and changes.
  • Resource and Cost Management:
    • Ensure resource allocation aligns with the project schedule and forecast resource requirements.
    • Integrate cost data with the schedule for time-phased budgeting and forecasting.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage schedule-related risks and opportunities.
    • Propose corrective actions to mitigate delays and optimize schedules.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale oil and gas pipeline projects.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
  • Experience in working with Project Management Consultancy (PMC) teams is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with project controls processes, including cost and risk management.
  • Knowledge of international project standards, codes, and practices in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and expatriate environment.
